Remove the stress and strain from creating your perfect kitchen
Although the idea of designing and building a kitchen in Essex can seem daunting, we can work closely alongside you to bring your vision to life. Although kitchens need to be highly functional so you can get the most out of them, there is no need to compromise on your aesthetic preferences. Our highly experienced architects can talk about your ideas and let you know how they can be brought to reality.
Laying the foundations
One of the most important jobs when it comes to creating a new bespoke kitchen is laying down the foundations. This job needs to be completed to the highest standard so you don’t face structural problems later. The task of the foundations is to distribute the weight of your home and deliver stability to prevent overloading.
Around 2-3 weeks in, the below-ground drainage will have been completed. Just before the two-month stage work will begin on the roof structure and plastering. During month three, the internal fit-out will be completed before the windows and doors are installed.
Are there likely to be any delays?
You can expect the whole process to take around four months between achieving planning permission and the completion stage. Things that could cause delays include gaining council approval and your neighbours signing your party wall agreement.
How can I keep delays to a minimum?
To minimise the chances of delays, you can stick to your original plan and avoid adding extra elements which could cost extra time and money. This is why it is so important to consider everything carefully before work gets underway. Take your time when you’re considering the kinds of windows and doors you want to add, whether you need a kitchen island and how much natural light you want to enter your space. By making these choices early on and sticking to them, you can prevent delays in receiving materials. Tell your architect and builders exactly what you require during the design stage rather than when work has already begun.
What extension type is right for me?
You can work closely with your site surveyor to find out which type of extension is best for your home. Wraparound extensions, slide returns and rear extensions all take around four months on average. Whatever you decide, you can always count on us to keep you updated on how things are progressing.
